The MOT test is a yearly test of vehicle safety, roadworthiness and exhaust emissions that is required in the United Kingdom for most vehicles over three years old. Here at Masters of Durham we have the facilities to test class 4 vehicles (cars). You can be rest assured that our experienced technicians will take good care of your vehicle whilst it is in our testing centre and will be on hand to advise of any work which may need to be carried out to maintain the safety of your vehicle.

An MOT can be carried out up to one calendar month prior to the expiry date of the existing MOT certificate, while still preserving the anniversary of the expiry date.
What do you need to bring to an MOT Test?
You only need to bring your vehicle to the test. Using the DVSA database, your tester will find your car and discover all the details needed for the MOT.
Can I drive my vehicle without MOT?
You are only allowed to drive your car when its MOT has expired if you've booked an MOT and are driving to the test centre. If stopped by the police you will need to be able to prove when and where your vehicle is booked in, the police WILL contact the test centre to ensure this information is correct. If you are unable to prove you are on your way to a pre-booked test you could face a fine of up to £1500.
